Mark Agostino 30th Lorne Cancer Conference 2018

Mark Agostino

Dr Mark Agostino completed his PhD in 2011 at the Monash Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences. His work focused on the development of novel computational methods for understanding carbohydrate recognition by antibodies, particularly focused on carbohydrates involved in pig-to-human xenograft rejection. He relocated to Curtin University in 2012. While there, he received an NHMRC CJ Martin Early Career Fellowship (2013-2017) which saw him again relocate to the Barcelona Supercomputing Centre (2013-2015) to develop computational approaches for investigating protein-protein interactions of relevance to the immune response to infectious diseases. Since returning to Curtin, he has collaborated broadly within the Perth medical research community, with active research projects in diverse topics including structural glycobiology, Wnt signalling, neurological disorders, and structure-based drug design.
